Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition 2012

I’m embarrassed to admit that in all the years I’ve been living in London, I’ve never been to see this exhibition before. Now I’ve been to this year’s, I can imagine how much I must have missed.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Natural History Museum - Our Entry - Cow in the City

I was very impressed to be taken here on a date on a what was otherwise a rather bleak and rainy Sunday afternoon. This exhibition changed everything.

This spectacular exhibition shows the 100 unbelievable prize-wining photographs of this year’s intake. There are short descriptions of where and how the photographs took place as well as details of the animals or landscape in the shot. My favourite was the winner of the “Animals in the Environment” category showing a poignant image of a polar bear sitting in the stark surroundings of breaking up ice.

There are a number of categories, all of which include amazing photos. This exhibition is a definite must-see and wonderful for a date as South Kensington has a lot to offer.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition is showing until 3rd March 2013.
