Chotto Matte is an exciting restaurant and bar in Soho that serves Nikkei cuisine; a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian dishes. Having never been to a Japanese Peruvian fusion restaurant before and having had recommendations from friends we thought we would check it out!
Sitting halfway along Dean Street in Soho is Dean Street Town House, an upmarket hotel and bistro owned by the Soho House Group serving high quality British fare. It was a Thursday night and packed! The wait for walk in’s was long but luckily I had a table booked.
Even before entering the Townhouse we could feel the buzzing atmosphere resonating from inside the restaurant.
Hold your date close, shield your eyes and prepare to be terrified. Halloween is just around the corner and you can get into the spirit early with The British Horror Film Festival. Returning to London to The Empire in Leicester Square on Friday 18th & Saturday 19th October with a whole host of terrifying (and a few funny) horror films.
Last night was one of the best nights I’ve had in London for ages. Fact.
Having booked tickets to see the Book of Mormon months ago, I was thrilled to realise this week that the blessed day had finally arrived.

I’d heard great things about Matilda so I was absolutely delighted to be surprised on one recent date with tickets to go see it!
As soon as I walked into the theatre, I knew it was going to be a fun show. Blackboards with pictures and witty remarks adorn the walls as you walk up the staircase and in the bar. We decided to make the most of this and enjoyed a drink in the bar before the show.
Contrary to popular belief, not all good dates involve getting drunk on cheap red wine. If you’re doing a Dryathlon or just cutting down on your booze for the New Year, here are some date ideas that will make you forget you even need vodka in order to make a move…

We’d never heard of Kettner’s before it was recommended by a friend to us but what a find. The restaurant sits right in the heart of theatreland and offers a lovely brasserie and cocktail and champagne bar. The brasserie has a live pianist from Monday to Saturday which really adds to the atmosphere.
Kettner’s was opened in 1867 from four Georgian townhouses and still has an air of nostalgia. It has been remodelled a number of times and now has an air and slight glitz of the 1930s about it.
Tipped as one of London’s most romantic restaurants, in the heart of the west end in busy Covent garden, Clos Maggiore is a sanctuary of romance and calm.
I was taken here on a date and I have to admit, when I first saw the beautiful conservatory, I was pretty awestruck. Split into two different decors, Clos Maggiores starts with a dark, wooden, Edwardian feel to it which although it interesting, is nothing compared to the magic of ivy and twinkling fairy lights in the conservatory.
