Close to Edgware Road station in the heart of Marylebone sits the wonderful Briciole that thankfully happened upon me whilst on a date in the area. A light and airy café, restaurant and deli, Briciole is the epitome of laid-back Italian café culture.
I first came to Giant Robot a week or so ago when my date and I decided to stop off for a quick drink after work. I instantly liked the fun feel of it, it managed to pull off industrial and cosy at the same time with exposed brickwork, metal and tea lights creating a nice effect.
Brixton may not conjure up images of romance but it’s been developing fast over the past few years so it’s not one to overlook. The area around the classic Ritzy cinema has been completely redeveloped and now regularly plays host to small festivals and events. Brixton village, a once dilapidated shopping arcade is now a super trendy restaurant hotspot and Brixton’s bars and clubs are some of the most fun and vibrant in London.
So Brixton for a date? Sure, why not. Read on and we’ll tell you about all the best places to go.
I have to admit, I wasn’t sure about how this date was going to turn out when my date told me he was taking me to a vegetarian restaurant on a 100% vegan, 100% organic night but I have to hand it to him, I was very pleasantly surprised by this choice.
We can honestly say that on a sunny day Brockwell Lido will be host to one of the loveliest dates you’ll ever have in London.
Sitting in Brockwell Park, a short walk from the centre of Brixton, you can start your date by taking the 10 minute walk and enjoying the park greenery. Just follow the path and you’ll soon find yourself at the Lido. Beware – on a sunny day the Lido gets very busy so you may have to queue but believe us, it’s worth it. We’ve only ever to wait 40 mins max and the queue moves fairly smoothly.
