A rollicking comedy musical that is a must see for any lovers of the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, in fact it’s a must see for anyone who likes a laugh or needs some silliness in their life.
Following nearly exactly the same story and script as the film, Spamalot takes you on the journey of King Arthur and his trusty Knights, in their quest to find the Holy Grail.
The songs are catchy, fun and chock (packed) full of gags throughout the entire show. My Spamalot experience had Les Dennis playing King Arthur and Warwick Davies as his faithful stead Patsy. Bonny Langford starred as the Lady of the lake with fantastic comic timing and incredible vocals, belting out the numbers from her tiny frame with vigour and gusto– you couldn’t help but be blown away!
For those who do know the film, The Knights of Ni were particularly hilarious, sending the audience and cast into a laughing frenzy, with my date nearly having to make impromptu dash for the Ladies Loo!
Spamalot is currently showing at The Playhouse Theatre near Embankment station, I would recommend continuing the date at Gordons Wine bar nearby, for some delicious post show wine and cheese.
For any Monty Python fan Spamalot is the Holy Grail of musicals! For booking information, check out their website.
