Sitting above the Jubilee market in Covent Garden, Meat Market is the sister restaurant of the trendy pop up Meat Liquor near Oxford Street. Like Meat Liquor, Meat Market serves up burgers, hot dogs, fries and shakes and luckily Meat Market is less well known so we had no problem getting a table.
The burgers and hot dogs were delicious and were the perfect hangover cure, setting us up for the rest of the afternoon in Covent Garden. The quirky surroundings provided a talking point and we enjoyed watching the world go by in the market that the restaurant looks out over.
Although we really enjoyed our date at Meat Market, we wouldn’t recommend it for a first date as the burgers are extremely sloppy and it’s likely that you will end up getting food all over your hands and possibly clothes. You probably won’t look good eating it either! But if you’re past those awkward first few dates and are looking for something around Covent Garden that’s fun and different from the overpriced tourist haunts then Meat Market is perfect.
