I first came to Giant Robot a week or so ago when my date and I decided to stop off for a quick drink after work. I instantly liked the fun feel of it, it managed to pull off industrial and cosy at the same time with exposed brickwork, metal and tea lights creating a nice effect.
Seated at the bar, we indulged in the extensive choice of cocktails because… well why not! The barman was very chatty and helped us to decide what we wanted from this huge list. I opted for the Prosecco Bellini, raspberry puree topped with Prosecco, just what I needed after a long day at work. My date meanwhile chose a Queens cocktail, gin mixed with pineapple, lemon and Martini.
This cafe/bar sits in Clerkenwell not far from Farringdon station so it’s in a fab location with loads of other fantastic bars and restaurants around to choose from if the mood takes you such as The Modern Pantry across the road or The Artisan of Clerkenwell.
I came back to try the food at lunchtime a few days ago and it was totally worth it. All the food looked great but I finally opted for the spicy meatball flatbread with courgette and goats cheese. I noticed that all the burgers that came out of the kitchen looked fantastic so I know what I’ll be having next time! Food is served all through the day and you can even order takeout from 10am-3pm.
A firm favourite of mine, Giant Robot will definitely be on my list for date nights.
