If you’re anything like us, when you hear ‘supperclub’, you think of over-the-top food and awkward conversation with pretentious foodies, and not a great place for a date. But we love Cannon and Cannon’s Brixton deli, so when we saw they were doing a supperclub, we had to give it a go. Fortunately for us, their supperclub involved a delicious five-course meal and, most importantly, individual tables.
We loved every course on the menu (especially the and raw mackerel, blackberries and horseradish) and were also impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of the waiters who made sure that everything on our plate was described to us in minute detail.
The meal was very reasonably priced at £23 per person, so it’s a great option for a foodie date that won’t cost the earth. The one problem is that you have to book quite far in advance (we booked two weeks ahead and were told we had the last spaces), making it doable only for the most organised of London daters.
