I was brought to lovely little Bar Prague in the heart of Shoreditch on a date recently and loved its laid back and intimate setting. Lit by candles, it feels very Shoreditch with exposed brick work walls, mismatched furniture and local artwork and vintage street lamps on the walls but it’s completely unpretentious.
We were welcomed by the most lovely barman I think I’ve ever come across. Visiting on a Saturday night and it being a tiny size there were of course no spare seats, but this barman took a break from the bar to squeeze himself across the room to find us spare seats to match with a free table. He then helped us to choose drinks from the great choice of premium Czech lagers and classic cocktails. Feeling so welcome and loving the cosy atmosphere we stayed much longer than intended but I love it when that happens as a result of a good find in London.
Bar Prague is also open in the daytime serving coffee and offering free wi-fi so it’s worth a stop by if you find yourself in the area.
This bar is a little haven amongst all the trendy east London bars sprawled across Shoreditch that take themselves way too seriously. Bar Prague – Czech it out.
