White Mischief: Phantasmagoria at Scala
True to Halloween style, Scala in Kings Cross will be serving up jugglers, séances and a magic lantern show for their annual Halloween ball. Expect a cross between Cirque du Soleil and Dracula – a perfect choice if you enjoy seeing the weird and the wonderful and you’re up for dancing the night away with your date. DJs Jean-Paul Seculaire and The Roustabouts will be spinning classic jazz and rock ‘n’ roll, while Oompah Brass and brass band, Jarmean will be playing live. Make the effort to dress up in your best Halloween costume as clubbers make a big effort at Scala.

London Zombie Walk
A top Halloween date if you and your date are fans of Shaun of the Dead. Pour some fake blood over each other and join in with the other zombies that will be taking part in a five hour pub crawl around Soho. Once you’ve bought your ticket, you’ll get free entry and some drink discounts. So just enjoy the night, enjoying the knowledge that this is the one costume where being drunk actually adds to it. This really is a proper laugh.

The Shining at the BFI Southbank
Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining will be showing for a limited period at the BFI Southbank. One of the scariest films around, this film is guaranteed to get you past any awkwardness with your date and have you cuddling in terror by the end. It was written by Stephen King and follows the story of a writer and his family as they look after a cursed hotel over winter. As the film continues, the writer’s sanity becomes undone and his madness leads him to turn on his wife and child in a terrifying chase that will have you peering through your fingers. This version includes 24 minutes of extra footage of previously deleted scenes which have never been released in the UK before. Definitely recommended.

Jack the Ripper Tour – Ripper Vision
The scariest of all our choices, Ripper Vision is voted the number one Jack the Ripper tour in London and is the only tour that takes you to the exact places where the murders happened. Hold your date’s hand as you are taken into the depths of historic east London – the guides really know what they’re talking about and you’ll see real crime scene images of the victims and evidence too. What could be scarier on Halloween than walking around the stomping ground of the most infamous murderer in history? A top choice if your date is interested in London’s eerie past.
